I am still energized by sights, sounds, and smells we experienced, enriched by the people we met, and moved by the rich history and cultures in Morocco. This 7-day tour bested my expectations. Our driver and guide for the trip was Mustapha Amdiaz. Mustafa was an impeccable professional. He went beyond the call of duty to ferry us from place to place at all times of the day and evening, in search for Diet Coke, wine, and the beautiful paints they use in Chefchaouen. He was an excellent and careful driver. He was a bottomless fount of information. I found most interesting the history, culture, and characteristics of the Berbers in Morocco as I could almost see everything he told us played out, not only in his own behavior, but in each of our Berber tour guides along the way. They were all educated, ernest, conscientious about their work, serious, yet friendly and kind. Highlights of the trip were the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen, driving through the Rif Mountains, the food tour in the old medina of Fez, the fascinating ruins at Volubilis, and the Majorelle Gardens and Berber Museum in Marrakech.
