Family Morocco Tour, A Dream Trip that Exceeded my Expectations Review

I always wanted to go to Morocco... it exceeded my expectations. It is a very beautiful, geographically diverse country, with so much to see, do and explore. We were fortunate to work with Alecia Cohen at Travel Exploration, I highly recommend this way of travelling around Morocco because you learn and see so much. Alecia organised a 10 day visit for myself and 2 daughters 22 and 18 years old. We were assigned Hossaine, our driver,our friend, fellow music fan, body guard and chauffeur who was with us the whole trip. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when we rested in the garden or sunbathed he came to take us to dinner in the evening which was a huge treat. We travelled from Casablanca to Rabat, Meknes, Fes, the Sahara at Skoura then onto Marrakesh, 2,500 km in 10 days.Alicia's format is to have a knowledgeable and well connected driver and at the destination city or place a local guide meets to tell us about the local area. Guides and tour drivers in Morocco are government licensed, they must be well educated to degree level and speak 3 languages. My personal highlights were Volibilis a Roman site in great shape from 100 AD, I still think about it often. I loved Riad Mabrouka in the Medina in Fes, the garden with tortoise was a peaceful respite in a busy schedule as well as the Sahara; you have to see the stars and the Palmerie in Skoura after the desert; a wonderful Oasis in the Oasis. My daughters while agreeing with me would also add the Hussain 2 mosque in Casablanca which was an exquisite tapestry of detailed architecture.
